As I journeyed throughout India, not only was I struck by the magnificent color, but I also became more aware of the precious nature of one our most fundamental natural resources. Water. The incredible rains of the summer monsoon shift every facet of daily life here in India. I was fascinated to watch the women run from their homes with buckets, bottles, pans and anything that could catch the rain as it fell from the sky. I was reminded of how precious water is and how much we still need to do to ensure that everyone has access to pure clean water. Water plays a critical role in all aspects of life including permaculture sustainability, health, nutrition and beauty. This ties strongly to my personal ethos of water being the essence of beauty.
